JKBOSE Class 9 Registration 2026: RR Submission Schedule, Fees, Dates and Eligibility Details

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued a notification regarding the online submission of Registration Returns (RR) for students currently enrolled in Class 9 in JKBOSE-affiliated academic institutions.

The notification, issued on September 17, 2026, covers students belonging to different academic sessions and zones. It applies to the 2025-26 academic session in Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division and the Union Territory of Ladakh, as well as the 2026-27 academic session in summer zone areas of Jammu Division.

The registration process will be conducted through the official JKBOSE website using the login credentials allotted to the concerned schools.

Classes and Academic Sessions Covered

According to the notification, the online registration process is applicable to eligible students currently on-roll in Class 9.

For students of the 2025-26 academic session from Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division and the Union Territory of Ladakh, the registration is for those who will be eligible to appear in the Class 10 Annual Regular Examination 2027, scheduled for the October-November session.

For students belonging to the 2026-27 academic session in summer zone areas of Jammu Division, the registration is for those who will be eligible to appear in the Class 10 Annual Regular Examination 2028, scheduled for the February-March session.

JKBOSE Class 9 Registration Dates 2026

JKBOSE has specified separate windows for normal registration and submission with late fees.

The normal online submission window for Registration Returns will open on September 21, 2026, and remain available until October 20, 2026.

During this period, the prescribed registration fee is Rs. 755 per candidate. The fee includes Rs. 50 as the Inter-Board Migration Certificate Fee.

Students whose Registration Returns are not submitted within the normal period may be covered under the subsequent late-fee schedules notified by JKBOSE.

Normal Fee:

First Late-Fee Window:

• Closing of link: October 30, 2026

• Additional late fee: Rs. 85

Second Late-Fee Window:

• Closing of link: November 19, 2026

The late-fee periods have been structured in successive 10-day counts, with the applicable additional amount added to the normal prescribed registration fee.

JKBOSE Class 9 Age Eligibility

The notification also specifies the age requirement for students submitting their Registration Returns.

For students of Kashmir Division and winter zone areas of Jammu Division covered under the 2025-26 academic session, only those on-roll Class 9 students are eligible to submit RR forms who attain the age of 14 years on the first day of November 2027.

For students from the summer zone areas of Jammu Division covered under the 2026-27 academic session, eligible candidates must attain the age of 14 years on the first day of May 2028.

The age criteria have been specifically mentioned in the JKBOSE notification and are linked to the respective Class 10 Annual Regular examination sessions.

Schools to Submit Registration Returns Through JKBOSE Portal

The notification states that concerned school in-charge officials are required to visit the JKBOSE official website, jkbose.jk.gov.in, for submitting the Registration Return forms.

The submission is to be carried out through the school's allotted login credentials.

The heads of affiliated institutions have also been instructed to verify the particulars of students before the information is submitted online.

Verification of Student Details

JKBOSE has directed the concerned heads of affiliated institutions to carefully verify the data of students.

The particulars entered for every candidate must be checked against the admission records of the institution. The notification emphasizes that the information should be correct and in accordance with the available admission records before online punching and final submission through the designated JKBOSE portal.

Once the verified particulars are duly certified by the concerned Head of Institution, they will be recorded in the JKBOSE database as final.

The notification further states that claims regarding correction of such particulars will ordinarily not be accepted at a later stage.

Institutions Must Ensure No Eligible Student Is Left Out

The notification also places responsibility on the heads of the concerned affiliated institutions to ensure that no eligible Class 9 student is omitted from the mandatory registration process.

For this purpose, the concerned institutions are required to furnish a certificate to the concerned Joint Secretary, Registration, KD/JD, confirming compliance with the registration requirements.

Additionally, only those academic institutions that are affiliated with JKBOSE and in whose favour the facilities stand released will be able to transmit the Registration Returns of their eligible on-roll Class 9 students.

Registration Rules for CWSN Candidates

JKBOSE has issued a separate provision for CWSN candidates.

Candidates having benchmark disability of at least 40 percent are exempted from paying the Registration Return fee.

However, such candidates are required to take a printout of the Registration Return form submitted online. The printout must be attested by the Head of the concerned Institution.

The attested form is required to be deposited at the concerned sub/branch offices of JKBOSE, along with disability certificate(s) issued by the competent authority or the district medical board.

The concerned jurisdictional JKBOSE office will verify each case and forward the list of authentic cases to the Joint Secretary, Registration, KD/JD, soon after the last date for filling the Registration Returns.

JKBOSE Class 9 Registration: Important Points

The JKBOSE notification makes clear that the registration process is intended for eligible students currently on-roll in Class 9 in affiliated institutions.

Schools are responsible for ensuring that candidate details are accurately entered and verified before final submission. The respective academic session and zone determine the Class 10 examination session for which the students are being registered.

For students covered under the normal fee period, the registration process will be available from September 21 to October 20, 2026, with a prescribed fee of Rs. 755 per candidate.

Students falling under the applicable late-fee windows will have to pay the additional amount prescribed by JKBOSE for the relevant period.
