JKBOPEE GNM/ANM Counselling 2026: Second Round Preference Filling Begins from August 3; Check Eligibility and Schedule

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has issued a notification regarding the conduct of the second round of online counselling for admission to General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) Courses for the 2026 academic session. The counselling process has been scheduled following the shortfall of seats after the completion of the first round due to non-joining and resignations by candidates.

According to Notification No. 129-BOPEE of 2026 dated August 1, 2026, the second round of online counselling, including upgradation and fresh allotment of seats, will be conducted from August 3, 2026 (11:30 AM onwards) to August 5, 2026 (midnight) through the official JKBOPEE admission portal.

Who Can Participate?

JKBOPEE has specified that several categories of candidates are eligible to participate in the second round of counselling.

Candidates who were not allotted any seat during the first round are eligible to apply. Those who secured a seat in the first round and joined their allotted institution can also participate for possible upgradation, subject to the counselling rules.

Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round but did not join the institution may also participate. However, they will not be considered for the same course in the same institution during this counselling round. They may still be considered for admission to other courses in the same institution or courses in different institutions, depending on seat availability.

Similarly, candidates who cancelled their admission on or before the last date of admission after the first round are also eligible. Such candidates will not be eligible for the same course in the same institution but may be considered for other available courses or institutions.

Additionally, candidates who qualified the GNM/ANM Common Entrance Test (CET)-2026 but did not participate in the first round of counselling can also take part in the second round. These candidates are required to pay an online counselling fee of Rs. 1,000 before submitting their preferences.

Fresh Preferences Are Mandatory

JKBOPEE has made it clear that all candidates intending to participate in the second round must submit a fresh set of online preferences during the notified counselling period.

The preferences submitted during the first round will automatically stand cancelled and will not be considered for the second round. Candidates who fail to submit fresh preferences within the prescribed period will not be considered for seat allotment in this round. However, candidates who have already joined an allotted seat and do not submit fresh choices will continue to retain their existing seat.

Important Instructions for Candidates

The Board has advised candidates to carefully review the available seats before exercising their preferences. Once a seat is allotted during this counselling round, it cannot be changed.

Candidates who do not participate by submitting fresh online choices will not have any claim over seats allotted to other eligible applicants participating in the counselling process.

JKBOPEE has also clarified that candidates who already paid the online counselling fee during the first round are not required to pay the fee again for the second round.

Seat Allotment Process

The Board stated that only vacant seats available after the first round will be filled during the second round. Seat allotment will be carried out according to the respective reservation categories, merit, and the preferences submitted by candidates.

Seats vacated because of upgradation during this round will be filled simultaneously in accordance with the prescribed counselling procedure.

Seat Matrix to Be Released Separately

JKBOPEE has informed candidates that the detailed seat matrix will be uploaded separately. All eligible candidates are advised to review the seat matrix carefully before participating in the counselling process and submitting their choices.

The Board also stated that all other terms and conditions governing admissions will remain unchanged and will continue to be applicable as provided in the e-Information Brochure, notifications, and notices issued from time to time.
