JKSSB Issues Detailed Instructions for Online Applications to 357 Public Works (R&B) Department Posts
JKSSB has released detailed guidelines for submitting online applications for 357 Public Works (R&B) Department vacancies, including registration, document upload, fee payment, live photo verification, and other important instructions.

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has released comprehensive instructions for candidates applying for 357 vacancies advertised in the Public Works (R&B) Department. The notice explains the complete online application procedure, important dates, registration process, document upload requirements, fee payment instructions, and live face verification guidelines for applicants.
The vacancies were advertised through Advertisement Notification No. 06 of 2026 dated July 6, 2026. According to JKSSB, only candidates possessing a valid Domicile Certificate and meeting the eligibility conditions specified in the advertisement are eligible to apply for these posts.
Application Schedule
As per the official notice, the online application window will remain open from August 1, 2026 (12:00 AM) to August 30, 2026 (11:59 PM). The online fee payment facility will also remain available during the same period. Candidates are advised to complete both the application submission and fee payment before the closing deadline.
Online Mode Only for Applications
JKSSB has clarified that applications will be accepted only through online mode via its official website. No offline applications or any other mode of submission will be entertained.
Applicants must visit the JKSSB portal and use the "Log-in (Apply on Various Posts)" option to begin the registration process.
Registration Process
Candidates who are applying must first register themselves on the portal by selecting the "New User/Sign Up" option. During registration, applicants are required to provide a valid mobile number and email address.
The registration process includes OTP-based verification. If the activation code does not work, candidates can request a fresh activation code through the portal. JKSSB has also advised applicants to use the username generated during registration instead of using their email ID while logging into the system.
Completion of One-Time Registration
After successfully creating login credentials, candidates must complete their One-Time Registration (OTR) profile.
Once the OTR process is completed, applicants should visit the "Active Advertisement" section, choose the relevant notification, and click on "Apply" to proceed with the online application form.
Fill the Application Carefully
The Board has advised candidates to enter all required information carefully before submitting the application.
According to the notice, once the application form is finally submitted, no modifications or corrections will be permitted. The information entered by the applicant will be treated as final while determining eligibility and other claims.
Candidates are also responsible for ensuring that claims relating to reserved categories, weightage, or other benefits are correctly filled in the application form and supported by valid certificates issued before the prescribed cut-off date.
Documents to be Uploaded
Applicants are required to upload several documents while completing the online application.
These include:
Live photograph captured through the online system.
Candidate's signature in the prescribed dimensions and file size.
Valid category certificate, wherever applicable.
Required educational qualification certificates and experience certificates, if prescribed for the post.
JKSSB has specified the maximum file size for various documents and advised candidates to ensure that all uploaded documents meet the prescribed technical requirements.
Application Fee Payment
The Board has stated that an application will be treated as incomplete unless the prescribed fee is successfully paid online.
After submitting the application form, candidates will receive a "Pay Now" option on their dashboard.
Payment can be made using:
Net Banking
Debit Card
Credit Card
UPI
Applicants should verify that the payment status changes to "Submitted" after completing the transaction. JKSSB has also advised candidates to include the payee name and account number while submitting any payment-related representation to the department.
No Hard Copy Required
JKSSB has clarified that candidates are not required to submit a printed copy of the online application after completing the registration process.
However, shortlisted candidates will have to produce the printed application form and supporting documents during the Document Verification (DV) stage.
The notice further states that in-service candidates must submit the printed application form along with the required certificate through the proper official channel.
Preference for Certain Posts
The Board has advised candidates to indicate their preferences for the following posts while submitting their application:
Draftsman (Civil) – Item Nos. 93 and 94
Works Supervisor – Item Nos. 95 and 96
Applicants have been instructed to carefully select their preferences against the corresponding item numbers mentioned in the advertisement.
Submit Applications Before the Deadline
JKSSB has advised candidates not to wait until the last date for submitting their applications.
According to the notice, heavy traffic on the portal near the closing date may result in login issues or other technical difficulties. Candidates are therefore encouraged to complete the application and payment process well before the deadline.
Helpdesk for Queries
Candidates facing issues related to the online application process may submit their queries through the official grievance email provided by JKSSB.
Assistance is also available through JKSSB landline numbers for Jammu and Srinagar as well as the NIC helpdesk mentioned in the notice.
Live Face Verification Guidelines
The notice includes a separate annexure detailing the mandatory live face capture process.
According to JKSSB:
Live camera verification is compulsory.
Uploaded photographs or screenshots are not permitted.
Applicants should use a working laptop or mobile camera.
A stable internet connection is recommended.
Candidates should sit in a well-lit area with their face clearly visible.
Masks, caps, hats, sunglasses, face coverings, or any obstruction should not be used during verification.
Only one face should appear in the camera frame.
Applicants should not refresh or close the browser during the verification process.
The Board has stated that candidates may be asked to repeat the verification if the captured image does not satisfy the required quality standards.
