The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force has invited online applications for 282 Medical Officer posts in CAPFs. Eligible candidates can apply online from August 10 to September 8, 2026.
The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP), under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, has released a recruitment notification inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for 282 Medical Officer posts in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs).
The recruitment drive is being conducted by the Central Armed Police Forces Medical Officer Selection Board–2025 for appointments to Group ‘A’ positions in various CAPFs. Both male and female candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility conditions are eligible to submit their applications through the online mode.
The available positions include appointments in the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Assam Rifles, functioning under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Total Vacancies Announced
According to the official notification, a total of 282 vacancies have been notified across three categories of Medical Officer posts.
The vacancy distribution is as follows:
1. Super Specialist Medical Officers (Second-in-Command)
Total Vacancies: 5
Category-wise Distribution:
UR/General: 4
OBC: 1
Pay Scale: Level-12 (₹78,800–₹2,09,200) in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC.
2. Specialist Medical Officers (Deputy Commandant)
Total Vacancies: 162
Category-wise Distribution:
UR/General: 55
SC: 27
ST: 9
OBC: 51
EWS: 20
Pay Scale: Level-11 (₹67,700–₹2,08,700) in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC.
3. Medical Officers (Assistant Commandant)
Total Vacancies: 115
Category-wise Distribution:
UR/General: 32
SC: 23
ST: 18
OBC: 32
EWS: 10
Pay Scale: Level-10 (₹56,100–₹1,77,500) in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC.
The notification also states that 10% of the vacancies in the Medical Officer (Assistant Commandant) category are reserved for Ex-Servicemen. If eligible Ex-Servicemen are not available to fill these reserved posts, the vacancies will be filled by other eligible candidates.
Additionally, the notification mentions that the total vacancies, including backlog vacancies, are subject to change without prior notice.
Application Fee
The application fee has been prescribed as follows:
₹400 for male candidates belonging to the UR/General, OBC, and EWS categories.
No application fee is payable by:
Female candidates
Ex-Servicemen
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste (SC) category
Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) category
Online Application Process
Applications will be accepted only through the online mode. No offline applications will be entertained.
Candidates are required to upload the following documents while completing their online profile:
A clear and legible photograph
Scanned signature
Certificate supporting the MBBS or equivalent qualification
Specialized qualification certificate, wherever applicable
Registration certificate issued by MCI, NMC, or the State Medical Council
The notification advises applicants to complete their online application strictly in accordance with the prescribed eligibility criteria and instructions to avoid disqualification at a later stage.

Candidates should note the following schedule for the recruitment process:
Opening Date for Online Application: 10 August 2026 at 12:01 AM
Closing Date for Submission of Online Application: 8 September 2026 at 11:59 PM
