Central University of Kashmir Invites Applications for B.Tech CSE Admissions 2026 Against Vacant Reserved and Supernumerary Seats

The Central University of Kashmir (CUK), Ganderbal, has issued an admission notification inviting online applications for admission to the Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) programme in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) for the Academic Session 2026–27.

The notification is intended for eligible candidates belonging to the reserved categories, including SC, ST, OBC and Persons with Disabilities (PwD), for admission against vacant seats. In addition, candidates from the Unreserved (UR) category are also eligible to apply for admission to vacant Supernumerary (General) seats, which carry a variable tuition fee as prescribed by the University.

The University has asked interested and eligible candidates to complete the online registration process within the notified schedule.

Eligibility Criteria

According to the admission notice, applicants must have passed the 10+2 examination or an equivalent qualification with at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised Board or University.

Candidates should have studied Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry or Biology as their main subjects.

For candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and PwD categories, the minimum required aggregate marks are 45%.

Who Can Apply?

The University has specified the categories of candidates eligible to apply for admission under the current notification.

Applications are invited from:

• Candidates possessing a valid JEE (Main) 2026 score who could not register or secure admission during the earlier admission process.

Selection Process

The admission notice states that preference in selection will be given according to the following order:

First preference will be accorded to candidates holding a valid JEE (Main) 2026 score.

If seats remain vacant, preference will then be extended to candidates who appeared in CUET-UG 2026.

Any seats still available after these rounds will be offered to candidates who appeared in other applicable national or state-level entrance examinations, including BOPEE, where applicable.

The Central University of Kashmir has released the registration timeline for the admission process.

The online registration portal became operational on 29 July 2026.

The last date for submitting online applications is 4 August 2026, and the registration portal will remain open until 11:55 PM on the closing date.

Application Fee

The prescribed registration and processing fee varies according to the applicant category.

• General Category: Rs. 1,000

• SC/ST/OBC/PwD/EWS/Women Candidates: Rs. 500
